  • The Quora states, " Orion received its name from Orion, who was a giant huntsman in Greek mythology whom sues placed among the stars.

  • Yes, According to Wikipedia, "Orion is a prominent constellation, It is one of the most conspicuous and recognizable constellations in the night sky.

Orions Brightest stars

  • As stated in Orion's Brightest star, " Rigel is a blue supergiant that is the brightest star on Orion." It's other bright stars includes Betelgeuse, a blue red white super giant.

  • According to sky and telescopes, " About 1500 light years of empty space separates the orion's nebula and Ottawa Canada.

Meteor Showers associated with Orion

  • Constellation guide states, " There are two meteor shower associated with Orion , the Orionids and the Chi Orinionids. The Orionid Meteor shower reaches its peak at around October 21 every year.

  • In the Northern hemisphere the constellation can be seen from late autumn to early spring.In the Southern hemisphere Orion can be seen in the summer months, note that it will appear upside down.
  • The three stars which form a line through the middle of the constellation are known as Orion's Belt.
