PRESENTATION OUTLINE
THE OUTSIDERS FINAL PROJECT
"HE AIN'T A SOC" I SAID "HE'S JUST A GUY"
IT IS WRONG TO JUDGE PEOPLE, AND BE MORE ACCEPTING
Evidence #1
'"I'm sick of it (rumbles) because it doesn't do any good. You can't win, you know that don't you?" And when I remained silent he (Randy) went on "You can't win even if you whip us. You'll still be where you were before-at the bottom. And we'll still be the lucky ones with all the breaks. So it doesn't do any good, the fighting and killing. It doesn't prove a thing. Greasers will still be Greasers and Socs will still be Socs."'
Randy is saying, that it is no use judging, and no use fighting. He is also saying that it doesn't matter weather they judge or not, because everything will still be the same. The facts are the real things.
Evidence #2
Throughout the whole story, the Greasers are always saying how bad and wrong the Socs are, and the Socs are saying how stupid and dumb the Greasers are. At the end though after the rumble, Ponyboy realizes that the Socs are human, just like him and everyone else. I think Ponyboy wants everyone to realize that everyone is human we are all the same.
Evidence #3
'I had grown up with them, and they accepted me, even though I was younger.'
This proves that the gang did the right thing by accepting Ponyboy. They could have just said, forget you, but instead, they were accepting and nice to Ponyboy, even though he was younger.
Evidence #4
'Why did the Socs hate us so much? We left them alone. I nearly went to sleep over my homework trying to figure it out.'
This is saying that the Socs are not accepting at all. They disrespected the Greasers when they don't even know them as people.
Evidence #5
'"I'll bet you think Socs have it made. The rich kids, the West-side Socs. I'll tell you something Ponyboy, and it may come as a surprise. We have troubles you've never even heard of. You want to know something?" She looked me straight in the eye. "Things are rough all over."'
This proves that the Greasers misjudged the Socs because they said that the Socs have a totally perfect life. Cherry, being a Soc, said it was rough all over.
How My Theme Applies to a 6th Grader:
This theme applies to a sixth grader because a lot of sixth graders get judged on who there friends are, what kind of clothes they have, and sometimes, how rich they are. It will make somone feel awful (especially being at this age) and want to change themselves. They don't know that the person judging them is wrong, and they should just be themselves.
How My Theme Effects Me:
This connects to me because I have been judged, and it feels awful. It really made me want to change, then I thought about it, and realized, that this person was totally wrong, and I should forget about him. From then on I knew that other people I don't care about will not influence my decisions.
