I is for Innocence
A main theme in this book is innocence - gold. Every greaser but Sodapop has lost their innocence. Sodapop and Ponyboy usually cares what he does therefor having a current innocence.
J is for Johnny
Johnny has a really rough life. According to Pony, sixteen-year-old Johnny looks like "a little dark puppy that has been kicked too many times and is lost in a crowd of strangers" (1.49). When his parents aren't physically and or verbally abusing him, they're ignoring him. Johnny can stay away from home for long periods of time and nobody seems to care or notice, in sharp contrast to Pony's situation.
K is for kids
Kids were the most amount of people watching the fire from the outside. Kids were found in the burning church the boys hid out in after the murder. Kids are what the boys took out of the church during the fire.
L is for lousy
Lousy is a good word for explaining emotion throughout the story. Lousy is the way Ponyboy felt when he ran away. Lousy is how Ponyboy felt in the hospital.
M is for moonlight
Most crime happened in the moonlight. When Johnny killed the Soc, it was in the moonlight. When the Socs caught the Greasers with their girls, it was in the moonlight.
No is for nurse
Nureses were found in the hospital where Johnny and Dally stayed. Nurses were the girls that told Johnny's mother he didn't want to see her. Nurses were the ones who took care of the gang in the hospital, Johnny and Dally.
O is for ornery
Ornery is a word that explained Dally's attitude most of the time. He always had an ornery personally. When they were in hospital it didn't seem to be so bad though.
P is for Ponyboy
Ponyboy is the youngest of hai little family. He has brown hair, but bleached it when he ran away. Ponyboy loves to read and enjoys being a greaser.
Q is for quiet
Quiet is a word that could represent the personality of Johnny. Johnny doesn't really talk to much throughout the story. This means he is quiet.
