The average depth is fourteen thousand feet and is over 60,060,700 square miles.
The word pacific means "tranquil" in Spanish, but the Pacific Ocean is home to many violent storms and rough waters.
There are more than 25,000 islands in the Pacific Ocean including the second largest in the world, New Guiana.
The Pacific Ocean has many underwater volcanos that were discovered in 2014 while they were erupting.
There are over six endangered species. One of the most well know animals is the Orca or Killer Whale.
One interesting animal that dwells on the ocean floor is the Yeti Crab.
Humans would not want to live in the Pacific Ocean because it is a rough body of water. Also if you lived on an island that is located in the Pacific Ocean you would get many tropical storms.
