THE LAND WAS GRANTED TO HIM AS A DEBT THAT WAS OWED TO HIS FATHER

Quakers came because they were seeking religious freedom
They were being persecuted back in England for having a different religion
Once here they became a very peaceful kind of people

GEOGRAPHY
New York is bordered by New York New Jersey Ohio Virginia and Maryland
Major rivers are Allegheny, Susquehanna, Delaware, and Ohio river and lake Eric
It has the Allegheny mountain range running diagnally all across Pennsylvania.

IT CONTAINS TWO MAJOR CLIMATE ZONES, WARM AND HUMID
Average Temperature is about 35 degrees F

IRON SMELTING, METAL PRODUCER, ANTHRACITE COAL, AND MACHINERY

Penn founded Pennsylvania as refuge to his fellow quakers
A majority of English were quakers although a few were angilican
QUAKERS ARE A SOCIETY OF FRIENDS WHO OPPOSE SLAVERY
HOWEVER THERE WERE 3000 slaves imported to Pennsylvania

POLITICS
The original charter given by the king wasn't enough for land owners
Penn then published his government's frame which gave power to people
This was later changed so that the people had all the judicial rights
From then on out the citizens of Penn had a full measure of political freedom
