What literary elements does the author use to help the reader understand the views of the character?

The author uses flashbacks of the day the murder was planned in the classroom and the night of the party.

What surprised you about the characters?

What surprised me was all five girls were not friends before the prank. They were all considered "popular", but only two of them really knew each other before that day in class.

What is the most important mood so far? What techniques does the writer use to create this mood?

The mood is dark. The writer uses mystery and suspense to create this mood.

What is one thing the writer makes you curious about? Why?

The writer makes me curious about who is framing the girls for Nolan's murder because they only pranked him, and someone has made his murder look exactly the way they talked about it happening.

What are the main characters's most important traits? Why are these traits important?

The main characters's most important traits are their ability to keep secrets. They all are able to keep their secret about the prank they played on Nolan the night of his murder.

How are the main characters changing? What are they learning about life and the role they play in it?

All the main characters are changing because they are all finding out secrets about each other that they would not have expected to be true. They are learning that mistakes can effect your future. All five girls have different dreams and they might not happen now because of one conversation in a class.

What is the most interesting scene om the novel so far? What does the writer do to catch your interest?

The most interesting scene is when the girls break into Mr. Granger's house to find evidence he killed Nolan. The writer writes the story to where Granger comes home, but only finds Ava in his house and he thinks she wants to trade her body for better grades.

Who is the antagonist? What motivates him or her?

The antagonist is Mr. Granger, the youngest teacher at Beacon Heights High. Nolan is his motivation. Nolan was blackmailing him with pictures and Granger cannot afford his "good teacher" reputation to be ruined.

Is the antagonist likable even though he or she is trying to prevent the central character from accomplishing his or her goals? Why?

Yes, Granger is because to all of his students he looks like a good guy, but they do not know his dirty secrets.
