About Them
- Polar Bears live in the Artic
- Polar bears have black skin and although their fur appears white, it is actually transparent
- It is the largest carnivore (meat eater) that lives on land
- Polar bears use sea ice as a platform to hunt seals
- Seals make up most of a polar bears diet.

How They survive in the Cold?

- Their visibly pale coloring is caused by the reflection of the sun

- Polar bears, or “sea bears,” are the world’s largest land predators, weighing up to 600 kg (1300 lb.) and measuring up to 3 m (10 ft.) tall
- On average they live to be about 25 years old, reaching sexual maturity at around 4 years
- Their visibly pale coloring is caused by the reflection and scattering of light
