Strengthening Teaching Through Learner Profiles

Diversity: Catering to Our Students

How can teachers teach in a class with 25 different sets of needs?

Evaluation - Dangers

  • Dangers: For students who lose confidence and then feel that they cannot develop a growth mindset at school.

Multiple Intelligences

Catering to the students in planning, learning and assessment.

Multiple Intelligences

  • Take a survey to know their abilities.
  • Cater to the students' needs in various methods of activities and evaluation.

Ability Grouping

Should teachers group students by ability to achieve their lessons?

Grouping by Ability

  • Grouping by ability can help students foster the skills they already possess.
  • Mixing the groups would facilitate students trying different learning styles (diverse experiece)

Inquiry

Inquiry

  • Using a one-way model of teaching, students do not have input in their learning.
  • Being able to create own questions and follow modes of learning that cater to their ways of learning and interests can promote a growth mindset int he classroom.
