DEFINITIONS

• Machine: a device used to multiply forces or simply to change direction of forces.
• Mechanical Advantage: the ratio of output force to input force for a machine
• Efficiency of a Machine: the ratio of useful energy output to total energy
• input/ the percentage of work input that is converted to work output.
