CAN HENRY RUN?

  • As soon as Henry approached the line
  • he realized he couldn't run even if he wanted to
  • Until he is taken over by terror and he flees the line
  • Henry feels like a coward for running

HENRYS TURNING POINT

  • While Henry was wandering
  • He comes across a dead body
  • Henry hurries away from it
  • Henry catches up to
  • A group of wounded soldiers

TURNING POINT CONTINUED

  • Henry is jealous of the wounded men
  • Henry views there wounds as
  • A red badge of courage
  • Henry meets a badly wounded
  • Soldier he recognizes as Jim Conklin

FRIEND OR FIGHT

  • Henry promised to take care
  • Of Jim
  • Jim leaves the line to hide in
  • The bushes
  • Jim questions Henry because he didn't have any battle wounds

FRIEND OR FIGHT CONTINUED

  • Henry felt guilty for not
  • Fighting and left Jim there
  • To die
  • Henry was lead back to
  • His regiment

FIGHT

  • Some of the mates saw
  • Wounded soldiers
  • Also one of them
  • Saw a whole body laying
  • On the ground and tried to save him

FRIEND???

  • Henry watched Jim Conklin die
  • As Henry was wondering the
  • Woods with another soldier
  • He felt guilty for not having any wounds
  • And abandoned him to die in the in the forest

HENRY GOT HIS FIRST WOUND

  • Henry sees some fighting
  • And try's to stop some soldiers
  • To find out what has happened
  • One if the soldiers hits him in the head
  • With his rifle. Giving him a bloody gash

REUNITED

  • Henry gets reunited with his conpanions
  • His friend Wilson thinks he was shot
  • Wilson cares for Henry

HENRYS FIRST FIGHT

  • Henry joins the battlefield
  • He fights like am lion
  • As he is fighting he thinks of
  • Jim Conklin

HENRYS STILL FIGHTING

  • The lieutenant is impressed
  • With Henry's fighting
  • He fights like a mud digger

STILL FIGHTING

  • The regiment takes four prisoners
  • Fighting made Henry ashamed
  • Of his previous behavior
  • He feels bad for leaving the
  • Soldiers to die

CHANGE

  • Toward the end Henry
  • Starts to feel up regretful
  • For his early behavior

CHANGE COUNTINUED

  • Henry feels good about
  • What he has done
  • Since he has began to
  • Fight

TIRED

  • After fighting so long
  • The soldiers became
  • Tired and weak

HOLDING ON

  • Henry has a greater
  • Perspective to the purpose
  • Of fighting
  • And continued strong

FRIEND AND FIGHT

  • Henry figured out
  • How to fight
  • And be a friend at the
  • Same time
