How the reformation begin ?

  • The reformation brought much conflict to Europe 
  • It also created many new forms of the Christian Faith 
  • Early 1500's renaissance ideas had caused by Europe
  • Europeans were to view their lives with a critical thinking
  • A reformation movement against the Roman Catholic Church  

ORIGINS of the _____ Church

  • Lutheranism began in Germany   
  • It began after the Martin Luther was excommunicated by the Catholic Church 
  • Luther was a Catholic priest and scholar 
  • Luther started the separated movements and become Lutheranism 
  • Luther tried to work out differently from the church

Sin/salvation

  • Luther and his followers disagreed with the Catholic Church
  • Catholics believe that people earn salvation by following the teaching 
  • The sacrament of baptism wiped away the original sins 
  • Luther did not believe that people could do anything to earn salvation 
  • People had to pay in order to go to heaven and had forgiven the sins

AUTHORITY

  • Lutherans rejected the traditional sources of religion authority 
  • Such as the Church council and the popes 
  • Reading the bible was the only true source of religions guidance  
  • As reading the bible which was the only way to learn about God
  • Lutherans publish the Bible in several languages so people could read it

rituals and worthships

  • They combined Lutheranism and the Catholic Church for practice  
  • Catholics and Lutheranism services included Holy Communion   
  • The Christians ritual of sharing bread and wine 
  • Which means the last meal of Jesus 
  • Lutheranism and its followers wrote the bible in different languages
