DIAGRAM OF THE RESPIRATORY SYSTEM

MAJOR PARTS AND ORGANS IN THIS SYSTEM

  • Lungs;Function- stores the body's oxygen supply.
  • Trachea;Function- the airway of air passing through organisms.
  • Bronchi;Function- airway tubes that carry air into and out of the body.
  • Larynx;Function- produces sound through the vocal cord.
  • Pharynx;Function- the passage way of food and air for exchange.

INTERACTIONS

  • Digestive System- makes glucose and oxygen. Also known to make energy.
  • Circulatory System- interacts by bringing air into the body.
  • Nervous System- interacts by controlling the breathing rate.

FUN FACTS

  • Each lung contains 300-350 million respiratory units.
  • Yawning brings more oxygen to the lungs.
  • The main organs in the respiratory system are your lungs.
  • From lungs, blood returns back into your heart where it's pumped.
  • We breath 13 pints of air every minute.

The Breathing Process
The Diaphragm helps you breath. When this pulls down, it is making room for the lungs to expand. The lungs help you breath easier.

OTHER INFORMATION, THE RESPIRATORY SYSTEM

  • Includes nose,throat,voice box,windpipe.
  • Also including the lungs.
  • These parts of the respiratory system helps us breathe.
