The Revolutionary war was when Americans won their freedom from England.

Americans won the war from Great Britain the colonies became states.

The United States did not want a strong government so they did not have a president or a king, so that what happened was King George would not happen again.

It was only a little while later that the United States elected George Washington as the first president of United States of America.
