The graph shows that the top 1% of people in America have gradually made more money than those in every other percentile rage. The top 1% was at 375 whereas the lowest quintile was at 125.

I believe that the lowest quintile was most likely effected because they were the most expendable. They were more likely to lose their jobs and gain less money.

PIE GRAPH OF CHART #1

The previous graph shows us that the top 1% of people make a substantially greater amount of money than the lower percentiles.

The central angle of the fifth quintile is 180* and the first quintile's central angle is about 45*.

Since the money amounts were taken by household, it's incorrect to say that each person makes that amount of money because there could be more than one source of income in the household.

I think the income gap just shows how much of our country's people are poor and that we need to fix that. The people with more money are able to go to good schools and get better jobs which earns better income.

In order to fix the gap, our education system must be equal to all students and business owners shouldn't be able to discriminate against appearance or peoples' backgrounds.

As high school students, we can lessen the gap by encouraging the poor to continue searching for jobs and by getting the best education we can get.
