Native Americans used the Rio Grande as a water source and for transportation.

In the Rio Grande River Valley, you can grow potatoes, alfalfa, cotton, peppers, onions, and sometimes pecans.

Elephant Butte Dam which is built on the Rio a Grande is 301 feet high and the reservoir is 5.7 miles squared total

The high temperatures and no rain are causing the river to dry up.
