Edwards, with his brothers help claimed the area around Nacodoches free and independent
This was after the mexican government wouldn't help him get the squatters off his land

Mexican government sent one of thier generals Meir Y to investigate Texas
He found out the following
1.Anglo (Texans) outnumbers Texas 10-1
2.Texas trading with u.s (illegal)
he told officials that Mexico had lost control of Texas and they must regain strong hold of Texas

BATTLE OF GONZALES
lieutenant Fransisco Castaneda led 100 men to Gonzales to take the cannon
the militia fired a cannon on October 2, 1835 at the Mexican soldiers
a militia led by J.H Moore flew a flag over the cannon
The flag said come and take it with a cannon

BATTLE OF THE ALAMO
The battle lasted 13 days
Mexico had around 4000 soldiers texas had 189
All texans killed
Texas killed around 600 soldiers

William B Travis wrote a letterr
It was asking for more men to help fight at the Alamo

SANTA ANNA CAPTURED.......
After the battle of the alamo santa anna was captured by Sam Houston
Sam Houston gave him two choices
1. Give Texas to Texas government Or.....
2.die
He picked 1

TREATY ONE
This treatty between Texas and Santa Anna was public
He would take all his army out of Texas
No more battles between Texas and Mexico
Return and restore all stolen or destroyed property
Both sides would return prisoners

TREATY TWO
The second treaty was privite
Santa Anna had to tell Mexico about Texas independence
In return they would send Santa Anna back to Mexico
