• Speakeasies were illegal bars formed when prohibition started
• Bootlegging was the illegal production and selling of alcohol
• Al Capone was a gangster who bootlegged liquor
• Prohibition was started so people would cut back on drinking

WELTH AND DEBT

• During the 20's the stock market increased and a lot of people were taking out money to invest then the stock market crashed
• The credit card was invented to people over used these and went into debt

WOMEN

• Flappers were women with bobbed hair who wore short skirts and drank & smoke
• Women gained the right to vote in the 20's

AFRICAN AMERICANS

• During the 20's the idea of racial inferiority was rejected
• African Americans tried to make life better for them selves

BUSINESS

• The 20's was the golden year for aviation the first trip across the Atlantic Ocean happened
• The automobile industry was increasing to Henry ford led the way and Ford had a new model every year

ENTERTAINMENT

• The Charleston was a very popular dance in the 20's
• Some famous people of the 20's Al Capone, Babe Ruth, and Charlie Chaplain
• Baseball was considered the national past time of America
