• There were medicine advancements such as penicillin
• Water and Sanitation Systems and Installment Plans
• Toasters and Washing Machines

PROHIBITION

• Prohibition made it illegal to sell intoxicated beverages
• The name of this law was the Volstead Act/18th Amendment
• This was a national epic fail
• Led to increased crime
• Blue Laws restricted the certain use of alcohol on Sundays

THE RENAISSANCE

• Some of the Renaissances were:
• Harlem Renaissance
• Southern Literary Renaissance
• The Harlem Renaissance created the Pull Jazz and Great Migration

• A young woman who was unladylike

• She smoke and drank
• She was different for the previous generations

• Women were given the right to vote
• Ratified on August 18th, 1920

• The group was made up of retired Army Confederates

HOW WAS THE 1920'S DIFFERENT AND WHY?

• The 1920's had an adventure waiting to be visited
• WWI was a depressing time when the world was trying to perfect itself
• 1920's had new dances, Renaissances and technology was born
• It was a period of fun
