When it was built and Who built it
The Colosseum was ordered to be built in 70-72 a.d.
The order was from emperor Vespasian
In 80 a.d. Titus son of Vespasian opened the Colosseum
It's was originally called the Flavian ampitheartre

The Colosseum was a arena for gladiator fights
Also the would fill the bottom with water and
reenact sea battles
Another use was they would host animal hunts
and gladiators would fight them to the death

The Romans used 100,000 slaves to build
the colossuem
Slaves would bring the stones to Rome and
specialized workers would then put the pieces together
