The person was William Becknell. He cross in 1821.

WHERE DID THE SANTA FE TRAIL START

It started in Independence Missouri.

WHEN DID THE SANTA FE TRAIL END

It ended in Santa Fe New Mexico.

EXTRA FACTS

  • The trail for 900 miles.
  • The trail had two main routes the mountain fork and the cinnamon fork.
  • In 1825 a treaty was signed Osage Indians and the United States Government.
  • Trade in goods in Mexico were cloth, hardware, glass, and books.
