THE SCIENCE OF PROKARYOTES

BY: ADI NEASE AND MATILDA GREEN

WHAT IS A PROKARYOTE?

  • Are almost all single celled organisms
  • They do not have a nucleus
  • They do not have membrane bound organelles
  • They are considered microorganisms
  • They are divided into two domains- bacteria and archea.

THE DIFFERENCE IN EUKARYOTES.

  • Eukaryotic cells have a nucleus
  • And membrane bound organelles
  • They also have similar molecules as archea

ARCHAEA

  • Archaea are different from bacteria because of genetics in their cell walls
  • Some of the molecules in archaea are similar to the molecules in eukaryotes.
  • Some of the molecules in archaea can't be found in any other living organisms
  • Archaea can live almost any where- deep sea vents, and hot springs
  • Research shows that archea live everywhere!
