STAFFORD MOTOR SPEEDWAY

  • Opened in 1870
  • Originally known as Stafford Springs agricultural park (where horses were raced)
  • Became a NASCAR track in 1959
  • Famous drivers include Dale Earnhardt and paul Newman
  • Seats 10,000 people

CHEZ PIERRE

  • Five star french restaurant
  • 200 year old Victorian mansion
  • Original home of one of stafford's first settlers
  • Demolished to make way for dollar general

THE PALACE THEATER

  • Opened in 1900 as vaudeville theater/movie theater and closed in 1960
  • Reopened as JT's cafe
  • All shows general admission/capacity 400
  • Band stop between ny City/boston
  • First show, coyote grace, oct 5, 2012

STAFFORD 9/11 MEMORIAL

  • Beam Located at Stafford fire station
  • Beam from 20th floor/north tower
  • Dedicated to two Stafford residents on flight crew killed during attack
  • Dedicated to New York fire department/all victims of terrorism on 9/11/01

CCC MUSEUM

  • Civilian conservation corps began on 3/31/1933 during Great Depression
  • Started to relieve poverty and unemployment
  • Workers built trails, roads, campsites, dams, telephone lines, fought fires, and planted millions of trees
  • Ccc ended in 1942 due to WW ii

MIDDLE GROUND CAFE

  • Offers coffee/tea/sandwiches/organic salads/baked goods
  • Entertainment includes art shows/live music/game nights
  • Ms. Scholes' favorite wonder

DANCE/PIANO

  • Stafford academy of dance/miss heidi
  • Keiko thon/Piano instructor
  • Wonderful women teaching wonderful girls
