IMPERIALISM

  • Country increases wealth and power by expanding
  • Mostly in Europe
  • European countries fought for land in Africa "Scramble for Africa"
  • Settled in the "Berlin Act"
  • Decaying of Ottoman Empire, and Austria-Hungary were other WW1 cause factors
  • Led to assassination of Franz Ferdinand
  • Covers Great Transformation and WW1 unit

D-DAY INVASION

  • June 6th 1944
  • Allies: U.S, Britain, Canada, French forces
  • Liberate Western Europe from Nazi control
  • 156,000 allies deployed onto Juno Beach in France
  • 4,400 allies died in the battle but the allies won
  • Germany surrendered on May 7, 1945
  • Adolf Hitler committed suicide on April 30 1945
  • This covers the World War Two unit in class
