  • The Sioux Tribe used many different weapons for war and for hunting.
  • These weapons and tools were very important to them.
  • They would use their bow and arrows for hunting fish.
  • Some of their weapons were bow and arrows, knives, axes, and war clubs.

  • There have been many famous members of the Sioux Tribe.
  • Chief Red Cloud was an important leader of the Sioux Tribe.
  • Sitting Bull was another important leader who was a holy leader.
  • He helped lead the Sioux tribe during resistance against government.

  • They planted vegetables for food such as corn, cabbage, and beans.
  • They hunted for many different types of meat like buffalo and deer.
  • The Sioux Tribe also picked berries and fruit from the woods.

  • The sioux tribe thought that they could make the gods happier by dancing .
  • They used a lot of costumes for the celebrations.
  • Some of the dances were the sun dance and the throwing of the ball.
  • The sioux tribe used a lot of movement in their dances.

  • They lived throughout North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. 
  • The Sioux Tribe used wood and natural resources to make their homes. 
  • They lived teepees and grass huts.

  • They used the animals skin that they killed to make their clothing.
  • The men wore buffalo and animal skin pants.
  • The women wore deer skin dress, and made jewelry from seashells.
