the Spanish flu was rumoured to have originated in a Kansas army training camp in ww1, but no one really know where it came from, some says the usa developed it as a biowarfare weapon to use against germany, others say it was because of the foul environment of the training camp
the virus quickly spread because of war transportation, with masses of people all crowding a certain ship. by 1919, the virus has killed over 50 million people.
The Spanish flu got it's name because at the time, spain was a neutral country, as countries involved with the war cannot report anything that will hurt the country's morale. spain was the only neutral European country that was brave enough to report this.
patient zero was a American cook in the Kansas training camp, who was suddenly bedded with a 104.4 degrees fever. Soon enough, the virus swept through the camp with over 32,000 soldiers by the end of the first strain, the virus infected 1,100 soldiers, and killed 38
sources say that the Spanish flu dipped on 1918, however, this was just the calm before the storm as the second wave hit with fiercer force than the first one
Contracting the second strain of the virus was severely uncomfortable. By uncomfortable, I mean, vomiting up blood, blood leaking through your eyes and ears, and an inability to breathe. The second strain of the virus could kill someone 24 hours after showing first symptoms
that's pretty much all, my laptop ran into a problem again and I cant make a new page without it dying on me. I think I covered most major things though but there was a lot more I wanted to talk about.
