THE SQUIRES TALE

GENRE: ROMANCE

WHERE?

AT SARAI, IN THE LAND OF TARTARY

Characters:

*Cambyuskan- aka Gengis Khan the father of Canacee
*The Knight- the one who gave gifts to the king
*Canacee- daughter of Cambyuskan. Kind and gentle hearted.
*The Falcon- the heartbroken bird

Plot:

* It starts where king Cambyuskan is introduced and also his sons and daughter, Canacee. They all lived in royal luxury

*then there arrived a knight bearing gifts. A steed made of brass, a mirror, a ring, and a sword

*Horse- teleports anywhere
*Ring- allows you to talk to birds
*Mirror- reveals minds of friends and enemies
*Sword- deals deadly wounds and also heals them

*The ring was then given to Canacee to keep and she walked happily everywhere with her entrouges and suddenly saw a falcon, crying and looking pitiful.

*The falcon then talks about how she was abandoned by her false lover.(the tercet, a male falcon) Then Canace heals the bird and makes a mew for it painted blue for true faith and green for falsity

*Then the next part ends with the squire promising to tell about the sons and the quest of 1 of the sons to marry Canace. And also about the stories of the other gifts.

DID YOU GET IT?

(WE HOPE SO)

Since the story mainly focused on Canace and her talk with the falcon, the theme would be about love, support, and care for others. The moral would be....

That no matter how low or sad we get, there is always someone who is willing to listen and also lend a hand in desperate times like these. No matter how different you are.
