PRESENTATION OUTLINE

The Systems

Targeting the Circulatory and Excretory system

Circulatory

Consists of the heart, the arteries, veins and capillaries

Functions

  • Transports nutrients and wastes
  • Cools the body
  • Transport blood
  • Help get rid of harmful by products

The heart

Muscle that is responsible for pumping blood

Arteries and veins

Move blood to and from the heart

Capillaries

Passage where oxygen gets dilivered to the body

excretory

Pathways for the excretory system include skin, lungs, kidneys and liver

Functions

  • Moves metabolic wastes from body
  • Moves carbon dioxide from the body
  • Break down red blood cells
  • Removes sweat which consists of water salt and urea

lungs

Moves carbon dioxide from the body.

skin

Removes sweat which consists of water, salt, and urea

Liver

Break down red blood cells

kidneys

removes nitrogenous wastes from the blood

Interconnection: Your blood is filtered at the kidney and anything over the normal levels are filtered/secreted and some stuff are reabsorbed. So what effect does excretion have on the circulatory system? Blood pressure is controlled in the excretion process.
