NOW THE TALES OF CIRCE

(This is the real story)

On the isle of Aeaea, known to the ancient Greeks as the island of the dawn, lived the bewitching goddess Circe. This very beautiful daughter oh Helios and Perse was a powerful sorceress who loved using her magic to transform men and woman into beasts. She liked to change the body of her victims, while they're still in charge of their mental senses.
(The story continues)

Circe is best known for the role she played in Odysseus' journey home from the Trojan war.
Odysseus lost all but one of his ships and the majority of his crew to a race of cannibal giants. Odysseus and his surviving mates set sail towards the east. It took many days then they landed on the shores of Aeaea. When they got there they drew lots to see who would go onto The island and explore and who wouldn't. Eurylochus and 22 of the other men were chosen.

The island was a rich forest thick with oak trees. Then they found a palace with lions and wolves displaying characteristics of a most unusual nature. As the men entered the corrider of the palace they flung Circe busy weaving a tapestry. She invited them for dinner. All the guys, all but Eurylochus, who suspecting a trap chose to wait outside. Eurylochus peeked in the window and sees the guys eating. The men did not realize that the food was drugged.

Circe then entered the dinning hall happy to find the men all asleep. She then drew her wand and touched each person instantly turning then into a herd of swine and took them to a sty. Circe then left them. Then Eurylochus returned tho the ship shocked and weeping and reported what happened.
Odysseus listened intently, then after the story he picked up a sword and ran to save the crew. He was then met by the god Hermes. Hermes had a flower that could repel Circes magic. Odysseus kept running and found the palace. Then Circe invited Him for dinner. The dinner was a trap and he fell asleep. Circe then came out and said "off to the sty with you to." Odysseus, having been protected by the magic tailsman jumped up with sword in hand. Circe begged for her life, and Odysseus refused the offers and asked for his crew back to normal. At the end Circe helped them get back.
