Temperate Forest Map.

  • A brief description of my Biome is that temperate forest are characterized as regions with high levels of precipitation, humidity, and variety of deciduous trees.
  • Deciduous trees are trees that lose there leaves in the winter.
  • The map shown is one of the maps of the world with my biome (Temperate Forest) highlighted.

Biotic Factors(plants)

  • My biome has various number of plants such as Lichen,Moss,Ferns,Wild flowers, and other small plants.
  • Wild flowers stood out to me, the wild flowers adaptation is to the arid climate. wild flowers grow on the floor in spring before the trees leaf-out and shade the forest floor.
  • Wild flowers survive by Full sun and partial shade.

Animals in the temperate forest.

  • Some animals in the temperate forest are KodKod, Kermode bears,Marbled Murrelet,And Magellanic Woodpecker.
  • The Kermode bear which is sometimes called the spirit bear thick fur helps them survive the cold weather there habitat offers.
  • They survive by there climate, they eat berries, nuts, fruits, roots, grasses, and other plants. When other animals try to fight them they make there self look bigger by fluffing up there fur. The Kermode bears only live for 25 years or less.
  • The adaptation is needed cause the bears want be able to survive the weather in which there habitat gives off.

4 Abiotic Factors with description.

  • Soil- The soil in temperate forest depends on the type of forest decicdious forest have soil called Alfisols.
  • Wind - Wind is a common form of disturbance in the temperate forest. Many species of trees can spout from the stomp after such blow downs.
  • Sun - The average annual temperature deciduous Forest is 10%c (50%f)
  • Rainfall- The annual rainfall temperature in the temperate deciduous forest 75 to 100 centimeters (30 to 60)inches a year.

Additional Info.

  • Landmarks- Mountains, Hills, Lakes,Rivers.
  • The temperate forest gets about 30-60 inches of rain Each Year.
