PRESENTATION OUTLINE

THE THIRD WISH

KYNNEDI MICHAEL CAROLINE JIMMY KRISTA AND PAITYN

Mr. Peters was driving at dusk. As Mr. Peters entered a straight empty stretch of road, he heard cries and struggles as if someone were in trouble. He went to follow the voice. Once he followed the source of the cries, he found a swan entangled in a bed of thorns. As he approached the swan to free it, it struggled more, breaking Mr. Peters arm with its wing. Mr. Peters finally freed the bird and carried it to the verge of the canal and released it. The swan peacefully swam away. The swan turned into a king at the forest. Mr. Peters asked for three wishes. The king gave him three leaves and told him every time he wanted to make a wish, he would blow one of the leaves into the wind and his wish will be granted.

The first was for a wife as beautiful as the forest. He was walking home and he found his beautiful girl walking towards him. They went to the church to get married. After they got married, he showed his new wife his house. She was very impressed, but after a while Mr. Peters noticed that she was not happy. She confessed that she used to be a swan and she missed her sister. He offers to turn her sister into a human, but she refuses. He offers to turn her back into a swan, but she refuses that too. Mr. Peters could tell what his wife really wanted though. So he used his second wish to turn her back into a swan. Her and her sister stayed at the river near Mr. Peters pond.

One day, people heard horrible wailing coming from the swans at Mr. Peters' house. The next morning, they found him dead with a leaf and a white feather clasped into his hand.
