The Titanic is a British passenger liner that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean after colliding with an iceberg on April 15, 1912.
There was about 2,223 passengers and about 1,517 died.
On the titanic the hull steel and wrought iron rivets failed because brittle fracture. This happened because the titanic was traveling too fast on impact with the iceberg and the hull steel contained high levels of sulphur and the water tempature was below freezing.The reason for this was because of poor design of the watertight compartments.

Today,due to the titanic any ships exceeding 1600 tons must be equipped with wireless equipment. Those help them receive weather reports,check their ship positions,and call for emergencies .
