Geography Problems
losing a large portion of the land would hurt the empire by losing certain productions that were important for their survival (like plants)

The Division of Rome
When Rome was divided into smaller parts. This split the empire in 2, making them survive in a way on their own. The west would suffer from organization problems. The eastern side of Europe would continue to develop its cultural foundation, Christianity.

The plague had a big impact on the fall of Rome because of the loss of thousands of slaves. This caused production rate to be slower. They also lost a lot of soldiers, which lightened the force. Eventually they won't be able to produce everything that they did before.
