THE TOP THREE REASONS ROME FELL

AUBRIE SISK 3RD

POLITICAL INSTABILITY

  • Rome had so many leaders go in and out of their history and they had
  • different opinions of how Rome should be ruled, so most
  • emperors ending their ruling by being killed by the Romans.
  • Political instability weakened the Romans trust of their government
  • which led up to the fall of Rome, but that wasn't the main reason.

MILITARY PROBLEMS

  • Their military wasnt loyal unless they were
  • paid, and the Roman government didnt have enough
  • money to keep paying for more soldiers so the soldiers turned
  • against them. I chose military problems for second because
  • every empire needs a large, loyal army.

OVEREXPANSION

  • The Romans expanded themselves too thin,
  • they spent their money paying the soliders instead
  • of using it to help their expansion. They stretched
  • themselves too far for good protection and communication.

MAIN REASON

  • The main reason that the empire fell was because of overexpansion.
  • They couldn't protect the whole empire with the army not being loyal
  • so they were open to a lot of attacks and then eventually the empire fell.
  • The citizens didn't trust the Roman government which helped lead
  • up to the empire's fall.
