  • The first Rose game was in 1902
  • Was played by the University of Michigan Wolverines and the Stanford University.
  • Wolverines deefeated Stanford by 49-0
  • Cost for admission is $1
  • In 1902, there were 8,500 attendees

  • The second Rose Bowl didnt start until 1916, played by Brown Uni. and Washington State
  • The current Rose Bowl stadium was built in 1923
  • The old stadium is now reserved as private park to the PasadenaInstitute of Technology
  • There were nearly 1 million people lined up to watch the parade
  • In 2014, The Tournament of Roses gained over $130 million
