Domino Theory

  • In Southeast Asia, the U.S government used the domino theory to justify its support of a non-communist regime in South Vietnam against the communist government of North Vietnam and its increasing involvement in the long-running Vietnam War.

Golf of Ton-kin Resolution

  • The Gulf of Ton-kin Resolution was a joint resolution of the U.S. Congress passed on August 7 1964 in direct response to a minor naval engagement known as the Gulf of Ton-kin Incident It gave president johnson the right to use military force on Asia
