GEOGRAPHY

  • The Vikings homeland was in Scandinavia.
  • They lived by forests and rocky coast lines.
  • Jutland located on the south side was where they farmed.
  • The rest of Scandinavia were full of buildings, ships, and building areas.

RELIGION

  • The Vikings worshiped many gods that were similar to Germanic gods.
  • They bargained with the gods to get what they wanted.
  • They believed that the gods controlled the weather and the growth of crops.

ACHIEVEMENTS

  • They had a very good army that won a lot of battles.
  • They built houses, ships, and farms for a good environment.
  • They were as successful as the Phoenicians in trade.

POLITICS

  • The Vikings would be split up in groups and out of all of them one would become king.
  • He could make orders and take over land.
  • He could make laws and destroy houses.

ECONOMY

  • The Vikings grew grain and raised cattle, sheep, and pigs.
  • Some important jobs that they had were building ships, trading, farming, and fighting in war.
  • They built lots of houses and ships made out of wood.

SOCIAL SYSTEMS

  • In one house there is up to 30 or 20 people in it.
  • Men would fight in battle and women would work around the house.
  • The girls would learn household stuff from there mom
  • The boys learned how to battle in war by there dad
