OVER ALL THEME:

  • 1930
  • NO FREEDOM

The 1930's is the time zone in How To Kill a Mockingbird. It talks about colored people and how they are ordered to work for white people.

The colored people being commanded in the 30's was a huge part of The Finch family. They have Calpurina, a close woman who helps them and encourages them.

The way the book is put into order is just the same way as reading it in real life, it has everything that is needed to make a realistic story. It has the feelings, emotions, the time, the characters, everything is real.

The Mood is the same way as the tone. Except it has the emotions that just grabs you from the book. The way people lived back then.

No Freedom:
The colored people had no freedom, they always had that annoying weight on their shoulders. By being pushed around.

But yet colored people were just like the whites. They gave whites mean looks, talked trash about them. Exactly like each other. But why?

Well the colored people also thought that the whites had a contagious sickness.
