  • and prestige, but for the smaller countries
  • being bullied, it took away their property,
  • protection, and principles of life.

  • Teddy feared Spanish control over Cuba
  • Wanted the start war with Spain
  • Presented war plan to McKinley, who declined it

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

  • Went into debt with the Italians.
  • When Italian navy came to collect debt,
  • The D.R asked for U.S help.
  • U.S took over collection of Dominican customs,
  • Revenue, and set up a debt payment plan.

  • USA didn't want Italy to take over
  • Wanted to gain control over D.R

  • Wanted to keep control over Morocco
  • Fought France
  • Fought Germany

  • 14th amendment rights were violated
  • because the citizens of the smaller
  • countries property and protection was
  • taken away from them by the USA.
