It is no secret that leather is back. It never really left. The classics leather jacket was first introduced around World War Two where they we're known as the "bombers jacket" when worn by aviators and members of the military. During the last half of the 20th century, leather jackets became a symbol of class and popularity status throughout the U.S. We also saw the leather jacket as a source of protection for motorcycling. The jacket continued to be seen on punk rockers throughout the 90's and into the early 21st century. Today we can see everyone wearing leather jackets as a statement to be edgy and in style. Leather jackets never left so it's considered a trickle across theory. Everyone wore leather and loved it.
Fringe first reached America in the 1920's. The Charleston, one of the most popular dances at the time, gave its name to a dress completely covered in fringe. These dresses were known to invade the rules of society because they showed women's legs as the dress moved with their bodies as they danced. Soon the dress reached the high class levels as we saw many movie stars such as Joan Crawford. Fringe continued throughout the rest of the 20th century in many different forms. It was seen on leather jackets and then back to the Native Influences. During the last half of the 20th century, you could see tons of photo shoots including the top women modeling fringe in famous magazines. You can still see fringe today, but not as often so fringe is considered a trickle down.

Bell bottoms flared out from the calf and typically had a circumference of 18 inches. They became a iconic style for hippies in the 70's when tons of famous performers began to wear them such as Sonny and Cher. Bell bottoms weren't seen again until the early 2000's when they were introduced as boot-cut jeans. According to Vogue, bell bottoms will always be a trend due to their flattering fit.
