EDUCATION

• Jefferson entered the college of William & Mary in Williamsburg at age 16
• At the age of 9 he began studying Latin, Greek, and French
• University of Virginia (1819)
• In college he was a member of a secret organization called the flat hat club

CONTRIBUTIONS TO AMERICA

• He was the first Secretary of State from March 22 1790- December 31 1793
• He was elected delegate to the second continental congress in 1775

As president he offered to sell the Louisiana territory for 15 million dollars

He made enormous contributions to the u.s. Diplomacy
