  • "A state also of equality,wherein all the power and jurisdiction is reciprocal,no one having more than another;there being nothing more evident,than creatures of the same species and rank
  • "We hold these truths to be self-evident,that all men are created equal"
  • These are saying that all men are created equal and all have the same rights

SEC.220

  • "The people are at liberty to provide for themselves,by erecting a new legislative,differing from the other,by the change of persons,or form,or both,as they shall find it most for their safety and good"
  • "That whenever any form of Government becomes destructive of these ends,it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it,and to institute new Government,laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form,as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness
  • These quotes are saying that if the citizens feel unsafe or the government isn't for their greater good then the people are at liberty to change it

  • "When he who has the supreme executive power neglects and abandons that charge,so that the laws already made can no longer be put in execution"
  • "But when a long train of abuses and usurpations,pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Depotism,it is their right,it is their duty,to throw off such government,and to provide new guards for their future security"
  • These quotes are saying that if a ruler or a higher power abuses his power or privilege,then they can take out that person and provide better and newer forms of government

  • "teaches all mankind,who will but consult it,that being all equal and independent,no one ought to harm another in his life,health,liberty,or possessions"
  • "while evils are sufferable,than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed"
  • The quotes are saying that no single person can destroy or harm another man or a mans property

  • "Whenever the legislatures endeavor to take away,and destroy the property of the people,or to reduce them to slavery under arbitrary power,they put themselves into a state of war with the people,who are thereupon absolved from any further obedience,and are left to the common refuge,which God hath provided for all men,against force and violence"
  • Declaration:"that mankind are more disposed to suffer,while evils are sufferable,than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed"
  • These quotes are saying that if the government takes a mans property away that God gave to all men then the people can refuse to cooperate with that certain form of government

Most important similarity

  • The two most important similarities in my opinion are section 4 and "we hold these truths to be self evident,that all men are created equal" because in today's society those things are still ever present. All men are equal and always will be and that's important for everyone to remember,no matter who you are. The other most important similarity in my opinion is section 222 and it's collaborate quote from the declaration because it states that no one man,whoever that may be,can take or destroy another mans property or ideas to which they are accustomed. It's important for our world to keep that intact and uphold.
