THREE BRANCHES OF GOVERNMENT

LEGISLATIVE BRANCH

  • Is made up of two groups called the House of Representatives and the senate
  • In the House of Represenatives there are 435 members that are
  • At least 25 years old.
  • Member of the United States for at least seven years.
  • A resident of the state they want to represent.

  • In the senate there are 100 members that are
  • At least 30 years old
  • A citizen for at least 9 years
  • Both of these groups declare wars,make all laws, and more

JUDICIAL BRANCH

  • Made up of nine supreme fort justices that are appointed by the pres.
  • Those nine supreme four justices serve until they die or give up.
  • Their appointments are approved by the president and the senate.
  • The Judicial review helped shape the power of the judicial branch.
  • It It allows the Supreme Court to make sure the other branches are constitutional.

  • The president can serve for 2-4 years
  • To become president one must
  • Be at least 35 years old
  • Be a member of the United States for 14 years
  • Chief Executive,Chief diplomat,Commander in chief,Chief Of state,Legislative Leader

  • The president is the Chief Executive,Chief diplomat,Commander in chief
  • Chief Of state, and the Legislative Leader
  • Chief Executive:decides how the laws of the United States are enforced
  • Chief diplomat:The president decides what is said to foreign governments
  • Commander in cheif: the president is in charge of the army

  • Chief Of state: The president to be an inspiring example for the American people
  • Legislative leader: The president prepares a federal budget and more.
  • He is an important part of the government.

  • The Congress can approve presidential nominations and remove judges from office.
  • The Executive Branch has the power to veto and nominate judges.
  • They all have an effect on each other.
