SALVATION HISTORY TIMELINE

COVENANT WITH NOAH

• God used a flood as a punishment.
• The flood was used as punishment for prideful ambition.
• After the flood God made a covenant.
• It promised to never destroy the earth with a flood again.
• Its purpose was to unify everyone into one family.

COVENANT WITH ABRAHAM

• God called him out of his land,
• Gave him a new name,
• And promised him many descendants.
• Abraham became a father of faith for Jewish people.
• Abraham's son had 12 son's who became the ancestors of the tribes of Isreal.

COVENANT WITH MOSES, THE SINAI COVENANT

• Abraham goes onto Mt. Sinai.
• God revealed his name as YHWH.
• God reveals the 10 commandments.

KINGS & PROPHETS

• They always mentioned how God would be faithful to his promises.
• Israelites worshiped false Gods and were very sinful.
• During this period prophets helped form the hope of Gods salvation.

WISDOM LITERATURE

• God inspired a body of writings of:
• Proverbs, riddles, stories, warnings, and questions.
• They express every human emotion in heartfelt prayers.
• Psalms share hope that God will finally triumph,
• restore Israel among the nations, and right all wrongs.

JESUS CHRIST, THE NEW COVENANT

• Jesus is the only son of God, he is God himself.
• John the Baptist was a relative to Jesus.
• John was the last prophet.
• Jesus caused our salvation.
