Molasses Act
1733
You'd have to pay 6 pence per gallon of molasses. The British thought that the tax would actually be collected.

Stamp Act
1756
Passed by the parliament of Great Britain. There had to be a stamp on newspapers, letters, and commercial documents.

Sugar Act
1764
It was a revenue raising act. The act put tax on the sugar being imported to the colonist

Quartering Act
1765
The British Parliament created this act. American colonists had to house British soldiers if needed.

Tea Act
1773
The act of the British parliament. Putting taxes on the tea so the British could keep producing things and making money.

Boston Tea Party
1773
It was a political protest by the people in Boston because of the taxes on the tea. John Adams referred it to the destruction to the tea in Boston.

Intolerable Act
1774
Passed by the British parliament after the Boston Tea party. They were meant to punish the Massachusetts colonists after throwing the tea into the harbor.
