HAND HYGIENE IS A GREAT WAY TO PREVENT INFECTIONS .
Washing your hands is the best way to stop germs from spreading especially in the healthcare workers in order not to spread infections to other patients or themselves.

HOW MANY TIMES A HEALTHCARE WORKER CLEANS HIS/HER HANDS.

Health care worker cleans their hands on an average from 5 to 42 times per shift.

HOW HAND HYGIENE IS PERFORMED

  • Clean your hands by rubbing them with an alcohol-based formulation when hands are not visibly soiled.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water when hands are visibly dirtyn or soiled with blood or other fluids and after using the toilet.

HOW TO MAINTAIN NAIL HEALTH

  • Do not use harsh nail care products such as nail remoer with acetone in it etc
  • Do not bit your fingernails or pick at your cuticles.These habits can cause damage to your nail beds and can cause minor cut which can allow bacteria and fungi to enter and cause infection.
  • Practice good nail hygiene .

WHEN TO WEAR GLOVES.

  • Before a sterile procedure.
  • When anticipating contact wiyh blood or another body fluids,regulates of existence of sterile conditions and including contract with non-intact skin and mucous membrane.
  • Contact with patients immediate surroundings during contact precautions.
