GENERAL INFO

• Religion - everything besides Catholicism (diverse)
• Climate - hottest of all the colonies, but includes heavy downpours also
• Climate - the mix of humdity and heat is ideal for an agriculture based society
• Economy - Argiculture, exported tabacco, cotton, livestock, fruits, vegetables, corn, and grain
• Royal colony- "ruled or administered by officials responsible to and appointed by the reigning sovereign of Great Britain. " (Royal Colonies)

• Founded by James Oglethorpe as haven for debtors

• "Slavery was an extremely divisive issue, with the people of Savannah wanting Negroes while the Highlanders along the coast and the Saltzburgers at Ebenezer wanting to be slave-free." (Colonial Georgia)
• Sucessful famers and merchants belonged to the top of society while slaves were at the bottom
• Most of the wealth is on the shores, more poor as you go inlamnd (Rice vs Wheat farmers)
