Background/Biography Information

  • Bacon was known for his advancement of the scientific method
  • Born on January 22nd, 1561 in London, England
  • Died on April 9th, 1626 in London, England
  • He took up Aristotelian ideas, arguing for an approach, known as the scientific method, which is the foundation of modern scientific analysis
  • Bacon was a scientist, philosopher, and a lawyer
  • He attended Trinity College, Cambridge when he was 12 years old in April 1573

Main Idea/ Major Contribution

  • Bacon was considered the father of modern science
  • He was entitled a massive reformation of every process of knowledge for the advancement of learning divine and human
  • Came up with a method to help philosophers in weighing the truthfulness of knowledge

  • Methodical observation of facts of studying and interpreting natural phenomena
