IS IT MONOTHEISTIC OR POLYTHEISTIC?

  • This religion only has one god and one god only, so they are monotheistic.
  • They call their god the God of Israel, Jacob, Abraham, and Isaac.
  • They say his he is the only perfect one to exist, and that is why they follow
  • him.

SACRED TEXT

  • The Jews have a sacred text named the Torah.
  • Some teachings the jews have learned from this text is that
  • God created the universe, Gods creations are good,
  • humans are created in the image of god, the Torah
  • obligates us to save human life, and the hands of the world is in our hands.

THE FOUNDER OF JUDAISM

  • The founder of Judaism was Abraham. Him and his family
  • moved to Israel, and his tribes formed the 12 tribes of Israel.
  • These tribes moved to Egypt to escape a famine, but they were enslaved
  • there and it is said God performed miracles to free them. After this Abraham wrote
  • God's laws on stone tablets, and it later became the ten commandments; the basis of Judaism.

PLACE OF WORSHIP

  • The Jews place of worship was their church, The House of God.
  • This was where all there worships were performed.

ORIGINS

  • The religion started in the land of Cannan, which was
  • part of Israel.

SPREAD OF JUDAISM

  • The religion of Judaism spread through exile, which was a very distinct way
  • of teaching people.

TRADITIONS

  • One traditions of the Jews is Hannakah.
  • One ritual that they did was called the sacrament. This
  • is where they would take bread and wine in remembrance of God.
  • The people were peaceful and very religious

FACTS

  • The Jews had some important symbols such as the Star of David.
  • Another one is the Menorah which is used during Hannakah.
  • One other symbol that they often looked at was the Mezuzah, which reminded
  • them of the Ten Commandments. Some interesting things about this is that
  • Judaism is one of the oldest religions ever, and their original founder was Abraham
