PRESENTATION OUTLINE

The US consumes lots of food. We Americans eat 815 billion calories of food each day. That is way more than we need. We really only need about 6 billion calories. It's still enough to feed 80 million people. We waste lots of important recourses. Because we eat so much it leaves countries like Africa with barely enough food to survive if even enough. Africa now has 27% less food they had in 1964. Eat as much as we need.

We use lots of pesticides. I know that when they use it, it sometimes runs off into a river or lake. People eat fish from areas like that. The pesticides can poison the fish which means if you eat the fish than it can poison you. We could limit where we put our pesticides down and how much we use them.

We in the US are very developed so we can eat pretty much as much as we want. We can buy a lot because we are a very wealthy country, but what if the developing countries start to get jealous. What if they started to eat the same amount as we do. Our planet would run out of resources if that happened. If every country ate and used energy at the same consumption rate. Then we would be screwed. We would need 4 planets to have every country consume the same amount as we do in the US. But thats not possible. So we should not consume as much things that we do. We should consume enough to stay healthy and live on. We still should be able to buy things once in a while. But not to go wasting them. In the US we should donate lots of things to others so they wouldn't get jealous and waste things like we do. We I'm the US should be thankful with what we have and to not spoil ourselves and use things right.

Lots of recourses are very limited and can't be used by everyone. Their isn't enough fertile land, fresh water, and oil to meet someone's needs. If we keep on eating the way we do their may not be enough of these recourses for everyone to use. We could loose food, water, or fuel. There would be lots of competition to find useful recourses. The prices will flys up as supplies shrink. Mainly in the US we could not waste so much recourses and use them wisely. Maybe we could stop using our phones and computers so much and we could go outside instead of wasting recoursful energy. We could also only eat as much as we need. We could also let other countries have a little of our stuff such as things to eat or maybe a telephone.

If we keep consuming like we do right now things will turn bad. Bad has already happened in some countries. In china there's already unsanitary air. China is consuming lots of energy, such as gasoline and fuel because of how much cars their starting to get. Air pollution will start to become terrible. We walk, jog, or bike a little more than you use your cars. Anyways China is. Already super crowded so why would you by a car when you would go faster biking or walking. We could also

We throw out lots of things. Those things that are wasted/thrown away go to land fills. Landfills are already overflowing with garbage. There's is also toxic material as in landfill. Such as phones and computers. After a little but of time the poison in the toxic material leak into water supplies. The poison can harm fish badly. We end up eating that fish. That can increase the amount of diseases humans get. To stop from these toxic materials getting into water supplies we could not throw away our computers rather we could give them away or just keep them and just store them somewhere. Old phones we could just give to your kids or sell them.
