Uranus' name means father of Saturn and king of the heavens in Greek mythology.

DISCOVERY

Uranus was discovered by William Herschel on March 13, 1781.

LOCATION

Uranus is the seventh planet from the Sun

Uranus is about 1.8 billion miles from the Sun.

ROTATION

It takes 17 Earth hours for Uranus to rotate on its axis.

SIZE

Uranus is 31,700 miles wide.

COMPARISON

URANUS IS THE THIRD LARGEST PLANET, IT'S A LITTLE BIGGER THAN NEPTUNE.

It takes 84 Earth years for Uranus to orbit the Sun.

TEMPERATURE

Uranus can get as cold as -355°F and as warm as -371°F.
